It is the same species of pine that Fender used back in the day. My Tweed cabs have fir ply baffles like their vintage counterparts. I use a cabinet birch ply for the baffles in brown and blackface cabinets.  Most companies use baltic birch ply for their baffles which in a lot of cases is not good for tone.The thin fir ply baffles are a giant part of the tone of tweed amplifiers.  One way to kill that great tone is to install a baltic birch baffle, if you ask me it is sacrilegious! Make sure you are getting the best tone from your guitar amplifier and buy a custom made Armadillo Amp Works cabinet today!  Check our orders & pricing page.  Get in the que for $125 to assure your spot in line.Fender Bandmaster 2*12 Extension CabinetTake a look at this glue I use for typical vintage amp restoration, it is like the old glue that Fender used but no longer does!!Don’t you want your amp restored with all possible elements being vintage correct?Well the glue is a big part of it.  It also makes vintage amp restoration a bit more “green”, as it is produced from natural substances.Animal Glue for covering Vintage AmplifiersSo whether used on a vintage amp restoration or Fender amplifier cabinets the glue is a big part of my equation for producing the best sounding speaker cabinets.  It is non toxic so it is safe for me to work with and not harmful to mother nature!  When it dries it has a very “woody” characteristic.  It will not dampen your cabinet like most other glues used in the industry.  I use a Pot Devin glue machine to apply the glue to the  tweed or tolex.One more important reason I use it is that it is “Vintage Correct” which makes for top notch amp restoration!  It will not change the vintage sound of the amplifier cabinet.
