Since retiring from being \r\n                a high school guidance counsellor and teacher, I've had more time \r\n                to be creative in a variety of ways.I've \r\n                always been a writer and at one time had regular columns in two \r\n                local newspapers. Using the same title as one of my old columns, \r\n                I moved it online, and on an irregular basis I post an opinion \r\n                blog (\"web log\"). Please check it out, and leave a comment \r\n                on any of the articles. Past articles can be seen in the Archives \r\n                section. Haven't been posting as much lately, but there are a \r\n                lot of archived articles that you might find interesting.With \r\n                the time available in retirement, I also completed my first novel, \r\n                and published it in October 2010. You can check out Approaching \r\n                Storm on the Storm \r\n                Novels site, and see some of the many comments I've received \r\n                on the book. If it catches your interest, you can also order a \r\n                copy from that site. Several readers suggested a sequel \r\n                to the book, so in November 2011 the sequel Storm Passing \r\n                came out. Check it out as well. It can be read by itself, but \r\n                it's even better to get to know the characters in Approaching \r\n                Storm first. I combined the two novels under the \"Storm \r\n                Novels\" title, and combined the sites. Clicking on either \r\n                book to the left will take you to it.While \r\n                publishing my novels, I learned the techniques needed to self-publish \r\n                a quality book. For a time I was publishing books for others, \r\n                but with changes in my computers, publishing program requirements, \r\n                and escalating costs using a US book printer, I decided to get \r\n                out of that enterprise.Painting \r\n                is another area that retirement opened up. Like writing, I had \r\n                always dabbled in art, but in retirement took this to another \r\n                level. My paintings were often displayed locally when we lived \r\n                in southwestern Nova Scotia, but with our recent move to another \r\n                province, I reduced any on hand to just a few for our own use. \r\n                I'll continue to paint, though in a location away from the sea, \r\n                I'm not sure what my focus will be in future!- - - - Read \r\n                my Through a Single Window Blog articles, read my \r\n                novels Approaching Storm and Storm Passing...I \r\n                think you'll find them interesting!Copyright \r\n                2025 <h3>FWPerry Creative Projects</h3>",
